Wouldn't it be nice to see preview images which kind of page or block type are you creating? If you are creating new block, would you like to see this kind of view? Jon Menzies-Smith has made a great EPiBoost library which include many nice features but one thing I really admire is a feature which display preview image of each page type. The page type feature was missing just on important feature. It couldn't display block's preview images. Luckily that's not a very hard thing to do (if you know what to do). With couple of small steps, you could use preview images with blocks also. Blocks need to have some sort of preview page. Alloy template already have preview controller, which we are going to use with couple of small modifications. EPiBoost's methods require also small modifications to work with block preview controller. These methods are found in PageTypeThumbnailHandler class. One could still argue that this isn't secure way to implement this feature but that's the reason why I didn't share the the final version of the screenshots. Sorry about that. Images also should use some sort of caching which I haven't included into this article.
